EARTH DAY
Earth Day 2015 is coming up on Wednesday April 22nd, 2015. Environmental education is an important part of the on-going education here at Huron and we’d like to thank everyone for their commitment. Special thanks to the Eco-Club; students, parents and staff, who volunteer their time to plan and organize all our “Environmental Awareness” activities throughout the school year. Your leadership is amazing – and so very important!!

Music Monday is coming. This annual celebration of music education in schools will take place this year on Monday May 4th. Celebrations all across Canada will be taking place, joining in song as we sing the new anthem ‘We Are One’, written by Connor Ross, a Performing Arts High School student in Bolton. The Huron celebration will take place in the big field, weather permitting, at 11:10am (in the gym in the event of rain–or snow!!!) LOST AND FOUND
Our Lost and Found is starting to fill up again – please everyone remember to check Lost and Found regularly and claim any belongings. Students are reminded regularly to bring lost and found items from their classrooms and hallways to the Lost and Found structure, so even if you can’t find something on one day please continue to check. Sometimes it takes a little while but most things do, eventually, end up in Lost and Found. Please note – food containers are thrown out regularly!! It doesn’t take long for the food in them to become disgusting, which is then smelly and attracts things we don’t want. For that reason, all food containers that end up in Lost and Found are thrown out regularly – so please check Lost and Found if your child left their lunchbag at school.
SCHOOL COUNCIL MEETING
Our next School Council meeting is planned for this Tuesday April 21st, 2015, at 6:00pm. All parents/caregivers are welcome to attend.
