REPORT CARDS
Second term report cards will be sent home with students on Tuesday June 28th, 2016. If your child is absent from school on Tuesday (and Wednesday) we will hold your child’s report card in the office for you to come and pick up in September. Additionally, the school will be open July 4-7, and Aug. 30-Sept. 2, 2016 if you would like to come and pick it up during either of those times.

LAST DAY OF SCHOOL
A reminder that the last day of school for all students is Wednesday June 29th, 2016. There is no school for students on June 30th – it is a PA Day.

LOST AND FOUND
Our Lost and Found collection continues to grow… and grow… and grow and there are many items of clothing of quite good quality in it, as well as lunch bags, water bottles, umbrellas, backpacks and many pairs of shoes and boots! Please make sure you are checking Lost and Found every day from now until the end of school – ‘new’ items are added every day as classrooms are cleaning-up for the end of the year. A reminder that everything in Lost and Found will be donated to charity after school is finished so please make sure you take home anything that belongs to you by the end of the day on Wednesday.

It is indescribable – the amount of stuff in Lost and Found … and some of it is really good quality!! At the end of the school year everything in Lost and Found is donated to charity so please be checking Lost and Found regularly and take home anything that belongs to you.

HURON EARTH HOUR
We are having our last Huron Earth Hour for this school year on Friday June 24th. From 2:20-3:20pm we will be turning off our lights and ‘powering down’ as much as possible. We encourage everyone in our Huron community to do the same at home as well.

LOST AND FOUND
Again a reminder of the wonderful, LARGE, collection of ‘stuff’ we have in our Lost and Found now. Lunchbags, water bottles, winter hats, baseball caps, scarves, mittens, gloves, coats (both light-weight and winter coats), t-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, sweaters, pants, snow pants, umbrellas, baseball gloves, and many pairs of shoes and boots … to name just a few things that are in our Lost and Found. Don’t forget that everything left in the school after the last day of classes will be donated to a charity so please make sure you are checking Lost and Found regularly and taking home everything that belongs to you.

SCHOOL COUNCIL
Our next, and last, School Council meeting for this school year is scheduled for Tuesday June 14th, 2016 at 6:00pm. All parents/caregivers are invited and welcome to attend. Babysitting and pizza will be available for children.

VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION BREAKFAST
If you have been one of our amazing parent/caregiver volunteers this year we would like to say “thank you” at our Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast on Wednesday June 15th, 2016 at 8:15am. Fingers crossed for nice weather and we’ll set up outside, on the front yard of the school.

Again this year, YoYo’s Yogurt Café on Bloor Street (417 Bloor Street West) is partnering with Huron Street School to help with our fundraising efforts.

On Wednesday, June 15th, from after school until closing, all you have to do is go to YoYo’s and buy a yummy treat. When you are at the cash register mention that you are from Huron and YoYo’s will donate 30% of your entire bill to our school.

All proceeds raised at this event will go towards purchasing new equipment (balls, frisbees, skipping ropes, etc.) for students to use when they are playing outside.

Please join us on Wednesday June 15th – enjoy some yogurt at YoYo’s and raise money to support Huron School.

PA DAY
A reminder to everyone that next Friday – June 10th – is a PA Day. There is no school for students on Friday June 10th, 2016.

LOST AND FOUND
We have quite a collection of stuff in our Lost and Found now – and all of it needs to be claimed and taken to your homes! Anything left in Lost and Found at the end of the school year will be donated to charity, so please check Lost and Found often and make sure that anything that belongs to you is picked up.

Just a reminder that if you are interested in ordering a copy of the panoramic school photo(s) the deadline for orders to be returned to the school is Thursday June 9th, 2016.

The photos are $15.00 each and all students have received an order form. There are extra order forms available in the school office if needed.

A reminder that there are two different photos.
One photo has students from Rooms 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 12, 13, 16, 18 and 19.
The other photo has students from Rooms 11, 14, 15, 22, 23, 24 and 25.

When you are completing the order form please make sure it is for the photo you want (the order forms are different – one for each of the photos).
