SCHOOL COUNCIL MEETING

Our next School Council Meeting is on Tuesday February 5^th, 2019 at 6:00pm.  Babysitting and pizza will be available for children – all parents/caregivers are welcome to attend the meeting and be a part of the discussions. 

WINTER WALK TO SCHOOL DAY

It’s Winter! Don’t hibernate - walk to school and celebrate! Huron’s annual Winter Walk to School Day is coming up on Wednesday February 6th. Students and families are encouraged to walk to school to promote daily physical activity, a healthier environment, safer streets, making friends and…having fun! Free hot chocolate will be served at the front of the school to welcome walkers as they arrive. Please bring a reusable mug/thermos to reduce waste! If you forget a mug, you can pay $1.00 to have your hot chocolate in a disposable cup.  

And as always, we would love to have any volunteers help us with serving or making the hot chocolate.  Please contact Diana WIll Stork at diana.willstork@tdsb.on.ca

PROLOGUE PERFORMANCE

On Wednesday February 6th, Huron will be hosting Red Sky Performance’s Mistatim for students in Grades 4, 5 and 6, beginning after the announcements in the morning (at approx. 9:15am).  Parents/caregivers are welcome to join us if you are available.

PIZZA LUNCH

Our next Pizza Lunch is this week, on Wednesday, February 6^th, 2019.  Pizza has already been ordered for this date, based on orders placed through School Cash Online, so unfortunately last minute orders cannot be accepted.  If there are any, extra slices will be available for sale on Wednesday for $3.00/each.  Please make sure that students also have a lunch on Wednesday as extra slices cannot be guaranteed.

ADDITIONAL MID-MONTH PIZZA LUNCHES ARE HAPPENING!

Great news – thanks to the volunteer sign-up, we are able to confirm our additional mid-month Pizza Lunches will be happening.  Hooray!  Less lunches to make!!

Now it’s up to you to sign up for the pizza…

COBS BREAD THE ANNEX – FUNDRAISER!

For the entire month of February 2019, COBS Bread The Annex (370 Bloor Street West) will donate a percentage of your purchase back to Huron Street Junior Public School.

Every time you purchase at COBS Bread The Annex (370 Bloor Street West) between February 1st and February 28th, just mention you’re “RAISING DOUGH” for Huron Street Public School and COBS will process a donation of the total sale back to our school.

We would like to thanks COBS Bread The Annex for their generous support to our school and encourage all Huron families and friends to shop at COBS during the month of February to help “RAISE SOME DOUGH FOR HURON”.

KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION

Help us spread the word – it’s time for Kindergarten Registration.

Available this year is the opportunity for registration online and we are encouraging families to take advantage of this.  https://www.tdsb.on.ca/EarlyYears/KindergartenMonth

The link will be live starting on Monday February 4th and registration can be done at any time.

For families who would prefer to come into the school, we will be having our on-site registration on Wednesday February 20th, 2019 in the morning.
