Huron Happenings – Dec. 19, 2016

ANNUAL HOLIDAY SING-A-LONG

Parents/caregivers, if you are available please come and join us on Wednesday December 21st, at 9:15am for our Annual Holiday Sing-A-Long. All classes, Kindergarten to Grade 6, will be in the gym singing many of our holiday’s favourite songs. 450+ voices make for wonderful music and lots of fun. Mark your calendars and please join us this morning if you can.

LOST AND FOUND

One last reminder that all items in Lost and Found need to be claimed and taken home before the holidays. Everything in Lost and Found will be donated to charity over the holidays and our Lost and Found will be empty when we come back to school in January. Make sure you check Lost and Found regularly as new items are put there all the time as they are found in hallways, stairwells and classrooms.

ELF YOURSELF DAY

Wednesday December 21st, the day of our Annual Holiday Sing-A-Long is when students should come to school dressed in their holiday finest. Santa hats, reindeer ears, dressing like an elf, wear holiday colours – whatever makes us happy and puts us in a holiday spirit. And if you made a donation to the Toronto Foundation for Student Success and have a red nose students are encouraged to bring it on Wednesday as well and wear it during our Sing-A-Long.

HURON MONTHLY EARTH HOUR

Friday December 23rd, from 2:20-3:20pm is when Huron will be holding our December Huron Earth Hour. As part of our commitment to being a Platinum Level Eco-School we take time each month to focus on ways we can reduce our energy consumption. At the school we will be turning off as many lights as we can and turning off/powering down as many electronics as we can. We encourage all Huron families to take time to reduce their energy consumption as home as well.

WINTER HOLIDAY BREAK

School will be closed from December 26th, 2016 to January 6th, 2017 inclusive. We look forward to seeing everyone back again on Monday January 9th, 2017. Wishing everyone a very happy, healthy and safe holiday.
