Huron’s Annual Food Drive

Ms. Steel’s grade 2/3 class is again organizing Huron’s Annual Holiday Food Drive, in support of the Daily Bread Food Bank. The Food Drive is continuing all this week, until Friday, December 16th. Non-perishable food items may be dropped off to any of the boxes in the main foyer of the school during this time. Most needed food items include: dried/canned beans or lentils, rice, canned fruits and vegetables, 100% fruit juice, pasta, pasta sauce, peanut butter, high fibre/low sugar cereal, granola bars, canned meat in water, canned fish (tuna in water), oatmeal, baby food (vegetables and fruit), baby cereal/baby formula.

Financial donations can also be made easily and securely online by clicking the ‘Donate” button at the top of the following page: http://www.dailybread.ca/tag/holiday-drive/

We are also going to need volunteers with cars to help deliver the food to our local fire station (240 Howland Avenue) during the week of December 19th. If you have a vehicle and time to take a box or two please let us know during this next week, and then come to the school the week of Dec. 19th and we’d be happy to load a box into your car.
