Huron’s Annual Food Drive

Ms. Steel’s grade 2/3 class will once again be organizing Huron’s Annual Holiday Food Drive, in support of the Daily Bread Food Bank. The Food Drive will be taking place from Monday, December 5th to Friday, December 16th. Non-perishable food items may be dropped off to any of the boxes in the main foyer of the school during this time. Food items can also be brought in on the night of Huron’s Holiday Concert (Thursday, December 8th).

Most needed food items include: dried/canned beans or lentils, rice, canned fruits and vegetables, 100% fruit juice, pasta, pasta sauce, peanut butter, high fibre/low sugar cereal, granola bars, canned meat in water, canned fish (tuna in water), oatmeal, baby food (vegetables and fruit), baby cereal/baby formula.

Financial donations can also be made easily and securely online by clicking the ‘Donate” button at the top of the following page: http://www.dailybread.ca/tag/holiday-drive/

We are also going to need volunteers with cars to help deliver the food to our local fire station (240 Howland Avenue) during the week of December 19th. If you have a vehicle and time to take a few boxes please let us know over the next couple of weeks, and then come to the school that week and we’d be happy to load a box or two into your car.

Thank you everyone for your support.
